Exam Timetable
Year 11 Summer series exam timetables can be found in the links below. End of year exams for all other years will be from 16 June – 27 June 2025. Timetables to be confirmed.
Infortmation for students, parents and carers
- Individual student timetables will be issued approximately 4 weeks prior the start of the exam season. The timetable will show the exam room and seating position.
- Examinations start at 9.00am and 13.00pm (unless otherwise stated on the student’s timetable), it is your child’s responsibility to be on time. If they arrive late, they will not automatically be allowed into the exam room.
- Mobile phones or any form of electronic communication devices must be switched off and handed in on entering the exam room and then collected as they leave. Smartwatches and normal wrist watches must also be handed in.
- Bottled water may be taken into the examination room but must be in a clear bottle bearing no motifs with all labels removed. Other liquids, food and chewing gum are not allowed. All pockets must be completely empty.
- Candidates must always comply with the rules and regulations of the examination and the instructions they receive from the Exam Invigilators. To ensure that they are fully aware of the accepted protocol in an examination, copies of the regulations which are provided by the Joint Council for Qualifications, will be sent to students along with their timetable. The notices are titled ‘Information for candidates – written examinations and can also be viewed at Information for candidates documents – JCQ Joint Council for Qualifications
- Candidates must remain in the room for the duration of the exam and the invigilators will instruct them when to leave. If anyone leaves the exam room prior to invigilators instructions, it will be classed as malpractice and the awarding body will be informed. Approved access arrangements and illness at the time of the exam are the only exceptions to this rule, and in these cases the invigilator will contact the exams team for assistance.
- If your child should be absent on the day of an examination, a telephone call should be made by 8.10am to the attendance line. If the absence is unavoidable, such as a family bereavement, an accident or illness, it may be possible for the school to apply to the awarding body for special consideration, providing documentary evidence is provided. Any evidence can be emailed to the Exams Officer Fiona.Maiden@lct.education
The awarding bodies have designated p.m. Wednesday 11 June 2025 and all day Wednesday 25 June 2025 as ‘contingency sessions’ for examinations. This is consistent with the qualification regulators’ document Exam system contingency plan: England, Wales and Northern Ireland – Exam system contingency plan: England, Wales and Northern Ireland – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
The designation of ‘contingency sessions’ within the common examination timetable is in the event of national or significant local disruption to examinations in the United Kingdom. It is part of the awarding bodies’ standard contingency planning for examinations.
Candidates must remain available until Wednesday 25 June 2025, should an awarding body need to invoke its contingency plan.
Exam results will be available from the school on Thursday 21st August 2025 at 10.00am. If your child would like their results posted to them, they will need to provide the school with an A4 stamped addressed envelope which should be handed into the Exams Office before the end of the summer term.

Results day information 2025
Results day is on Thursday 21 August 2024. Students and parents are welcome into school between 10am-12pm to collect their results. Students will also be asked to complete a ‘next steps form’. This is a legal requirement of the Skills and Post-16 Education Bill. If you haven’t yet confirmed any post 16 options, our team are still here to support you all the way through until September, please ask for support if you need it. We will also have post 16 providers on site on results day to answer any questions you may have after collection of results.
If you are unable to attend on results day, please email Fiona.Maiden@lct.education and we can arrange to email the results. Alternatively, you will be able to collect results from 2 September.
Please note, if you are unable to attend on 21 August, an electronic copy of the next steps form will be sent, and this will need to be returned to school on results day.
Review of Results and Appeals
All awarding bodies offer a service for Review of Results on payment of a set fee.
There are three types of service available:-
Service 1 (Clerical re-check)
This is a re-check of all clerical procedures leading to the issue of a result.
Service 2 (Post-results review of marking)
This is a post-results review of the original marking to ensure that the agreed mark scheme has been applied correctly.
Service 3 (Post-results review of moderation)
This is a review of the original moderation to ensure that the assessment criteria have been fairly, reliably and consistently applied. It is not a re-moderation of candidates work. If the centre’s internally assessed marks have been accepted without change by an awarding body, this service will not be available.
When a review is made there are three possible outcomes:-
- The original grade mark is confirmed as correct and there is no change to the grade.
- The original mark is raised so that the final grade may be higher than the original grade received.
- The original mark is lowered so that the final grade may be lower than the original grade received.
A candidate wishing to ask for a review should initially contact the Exams Officer, their subject teacher, the Subject Lead / Head of Department. If they then wish to proceed with an appeal, they will be asked to sign to acknowledge that they understand that there are three possible outcomes and that they give their consent to the review of their result being made. Candidate consent is not required for post-results review of moderation as candidates’ marks may be lowered but their published subject grades will not be lowered in the series concerned.
If the school supports the review the fee payable to the awarding body will be met by the school, if a candidate wishes to ask for a review independently, they will be asked to discuss it thoroughly with their teacher, Subject Lead / Head of Department and pay the fee before the request for a review is made. The school will decide on whether to support the review based on several factors including knowledge of the exam system and professional judgment.
The candidate will be notified of the outcome of the review as soon as notification is received from the awarding body. If the review leads to the grade changing to a higher grade, any fee paid by the candidate will be refunded.
Review of Results is an extension of the process to examine the procedures that were used in arriving at the awarded marks.
Student consent is required for post results services and consent forms will be available in school on results day. Students will be asked to sign the consent form prior to collecting their results.
