Andrea was born and educated in Northern Ireland and moved to England to study Sports Science at the University of Wolverhampton. She secured a post at Shireland Academy to teach Physical Education and remained there for 23 years. Her roles throughout this time included Head of PE, Pastoral Director, Teaching School Director, Assistant Head and Senior Vice Principal.
Andrea was responsible for Key Stage 4 standards and outcomes for 10yrs and helped the academy achieve positive progress on a yearly basis putting the school in the top 10% nationally for KS4 progress. She was pivotal in the school’s success which has been graded outstanding for 13 years.
Andrea believes all students should have access to the best education and that their school experience should not just be about the academic but the opportunity to access and experience enrichment activities which help prepare them for life after school.
She feels privileged to lead New Road Academy and wants to make it one of the best in Telford.
